Mental Health Goals

Dear Reader,

Have you ever felt like uhh a coffee stain on a paper cup? Or maybe an empty red wine bottle on the floor? Or the old newspaper stack piled up in the corner of your room? Thank Goodness, you landed here, on this page today. I know and out of somewhere it makes me feel less of an imposter to know there are people like me, suffering in silence. Well my dear friend, give yourself a pat-pat on your head, yes you are worthy of love! I'll tell you a story: I remember a day not long ago, like a month or so when I was in my dorm room, alone, on the floor, crying, screaming, in utter shock cause I made an unconscious suicide attempt, apart from which I'd been hungry since last night, and with whatever courage I had left within, I was yet shaking with fear, consequently I dropped my jar of favourite cookies on the floor- what a beautiful broken mess, inside out. Argh! a memorial I'd like to hammer into pieces, throw them as stones into the river, see them drown. Well, I'm doing better now. I'm not overdramatic, no, it's not a cry for help; it's a hand of support to you, dear reader, just a tiny attempt to make you feel less alone today. Let's be lonely together, try some self-care together. Pause. Remember the world hasn't ended yet. Look around, imagine in case you're indoors. Close your eyes and see fields of lavender tulips; sunshine lit corns, golden, like stars in both your fists hidden. O' the hills as heavy as your heart, as strong, as brave. The rain drops are moon white, just as your tears are precious, my love. Eyes demand love not surface deep, but bottomless, and you are that love, we are that love. The sun, the stars, the galaxies, the ocean bed, the ravine streams, your broken heart, your sugar smile, your chaos, your calm- the universe owns it and you own the universe. It's a rain storm, cold night, grey blankets, wide open eyes, yet it's a good time, yet it's a good time. May you do rainbows tomorrow! A pat-pat, a smile and some good cheers from me to you.

"I've always been closer to torrential skies, hungry tides, eclipsed moons, and fathomless stars than any other rendezvous of the universe."

With love,

Em

  1. Your blogs might not be full of happiness but they sure make me a little less in pain.
